Funding from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs often falls short in meeting many of the basic needs that our Veterans require and deserve. We established the Barrier Buster Fund this year. This fund is designed to break down the barriers that prevent Veterans from securing safe and permanent housing or that put them at risk of homelessness. By providing crucial financial support, the Barrier Buster Fund empowers our case managers to address urgent needs and ensure that Veterans receive the stability and security they’ve earned.

When a Veteran is housed, their apartment is often empty. The Barrier Buster Fund helps cover the cost of essential items to turn that space into a home. On average, it costs between $1,500 and $2,500 to completely furnish a one-bedroom apartment on a budget.
